Confession in the Anglican tradition is an important practice that involves acknowledging and repenting of one's sins. It is a means of seeking forgiveness and reconciliation with God. There are two main forms of confession in the Anglican Church: the General Confession and the Reconciliation of Penitents.

The General Confession is a communal act of repentance that takes place during the liturgy of Holy Communion and the Daily Office. It involves the congregation collectively acknowledging their sins and seeking God's forgiveness. This practice emphasizes humility and the recognition of the need for God's grace.

The Reconciliation of Penitents, also known as auricular confession, is a more personal and private form of confession. It involves an individual confessing their sins to a priest, who then offers absolution and guidance. This rite is outlined in the 2019 Book of Common Prayer and is considered one of the pastoral healing rites.

In both forms, the focus is on the individual's relationship with God and the community, emphasizing the importance of repentance, forgiveness, and spiritual healing.
